We all have presuppositions (things we believe to be true without necessarily having any proof). Our collective presuppositions are what shape our worldview (how we see the world philosophically). Often we are not consciously aware of these beliefs but be assured, they strongly influence the choices we make every day. Unfortunately, our beliefs are not always based on the truth. And more, once established, a person’s worldview can be difficult to change, even in the face of undeniable evidence that would contradict that view. Perhaps Mark Twain said it best –
“It’s easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled”
Here are some of my presuppositions that have influenced my view of the “pandemic” –
A. Belief in God’s word (Bible).
The Bible is clear, we have enemies – spiritual enemies (Satan, aka the devil). It says of Satan – he is the father of all lies, he is a murderer, a deceiver, a schemer, a tempter, an accuser, and that he came to kill, steal, and destroy, and that he is at war with God’s people. The Bible also says that he leads the whole world astray! Seeing this through spiritual eyes, I see how Satan has blinded people to the truth, resulting in a worldwide spiritual deception.
B. Beliefs about the Pharmaceutical Industry
God’s word also says,“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,…” That doesn’t mean that every person or company that is making lots of money is evil, however, in this case, I believe it applies.
So, who’s making most of the money here? The answer is obvious – the pharmaceutical industry, aka, Big Pharma. It’s hard to know exactly how much, but this year’s earnings are estimated well into the billions for all the major vaccine players. 2021 estimates are $100 billion with Pfizer being the biggest winner at $36 billion. Next year, who knows? More vaccines + more boosters = more money!
C. Distrust in the Federal Government
It seems I’m in the majority on this one. According to the Pew Research Center, only 22% of Americans trust the government to do the right thing most of the time. So often once a person gets in office, they turn into a control freak and their mindset becomes, “first do what’s best for me”. There is an old saying, “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. Concerning our federal government, I absolutely believe this old saying to be true.
D. Distrust in the Mainstream Media (MSM)
“Sadly, a new survey by the Reuters Institute found the United States ranks last in media trust — at 29% — among 92,000 news consumers surveyed in 46 countries.” Boston Herald
While there is a growing distrust of the MSM, it still has a huge impact on what people believe.
Did you know that almost all media is owned by only six companies?
These presuppositions of mine have greatly influenced my conclusions about the “pandemic”. Next time I will tie these things together to demonstrate how they have all worked together to bring about this “pandemic”.
